Hi! My name is Karen and my journey with physical fitness began when I was just 8 years old.
To help me overcome my shyness, my Mom enrolled me in Ballet School with the hope that I might meet new friends and gain some confidence. It was here that I learned about posture, balance, coordination and my love for dance. I took ballet lessons for eleven years until I entered college, and then I changed from ballet to working out with weights.
Weight training not only gave me more confidence but the extra muscle I put on my body, helped me to look much better in clothes and it also made me feel better! Being able to see my body change and take shape was exciting and propelled me on my learning journey in fitness and nutrition. I joined a gym and officially became a “gym rat”. I loved every minute of it! I read books about fitness and nutrition, took classes in Tai Chi, Meditation, Yoga, and started taking cooking classes which began my love for food.
Many years ago, a colleague suffered a heart attack at the age of 50, and that began my journey into learning as much as I could about how the human body functioned. Through the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA), I became a Certified Fitness Trainer, a Specialist in Senior Fitness, a Specialist in Fitness Nutrition, a Specialist in Sports Nutrition, a Sports Coach, a Transformation Specialist, a Kickboxing Instructor and I earned the Elite Trainer and ultimately, Master Trainer status.
My passion is to help others live the greatest life possible! My purpose is to help you become the best version of yourself through sound fitness principles by customizing fitness programs to fit your way of life. In addition, by listening to you and understanding your environment, habits and behavior, together we can create a nutrition program that will lead you to a happier and healthier lifestyle.
I continually strive to help you reach your goal whether that be the loss of body fat, to build or sculpt your muscles, or just to improve your wellness knowledge. In order to get started, you don't have to have any background in fitness. I'll teach you everything you need to know to help you become more self-sufficient in exercise training.
Becoming physically fit and nutritionally sound is a wonderful gift you can give to yourself. Not only will you look better but you'll feel more beautiful! You'll have more energy, more vitality and because of this, you'll age more gracefully.
Feeling great on the inside is what real beauty is all about!
Stay healthy, stay strong and stay active!
All the best to you,
Karen
